All lodging at Rio Retreat Center is designed to be conducive to the process of healing and recovery. Rooms are purposely free of the distractions that often accompany hotel lodging, such as TVs and phones (although Wi-Fi is available). Rooms are simply furnished with two twin beds or one queen bed, storage space, an alarm clock, a luggage stand, and their own private bathroom.
All lodging is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend you book early. For added convenience, you can reserve a room when you register for your workshop.
Our chef at Rio Retreat does a wonderful job of accommodating a wide range of tastes and dietary needs. You can eat incredibly healthy while you’re with us, choose to indulge in some comfort food, or land somewhere in between. There’s a little of everything, so the choice is up to you. We also include vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan options. Meals are provided Monday morning through noon on Friday. A Sunday evening snack is also served.
The Rio Retreat Center at The Meadows is a state-of-the-art facility designed with participants’ healing and empowerment in mind. Those who attend a workshop at Rio Retreat Center will have the option to participate in additional onsite activities that can help them focus and unwind in ways that jump-start healing and recovery.
A Bunkhouse shared room with two twin beds is $700, including tax, for a Sunday through Friday stay. Individuals will be paired with another workshop attendee of the same sex, except for instances where couples attending a couples’ workshop are allowed to room together. (Couples are not allowed to room together for the Discovery to Recovery workshop.)
A Hacienda private room with a queen bed is $1,465, including tax, for a Sunday through Friday stay.
For those individuals who book our lodging package, transportation will be provided to and from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. Transport times are as follows:
Sunday Arrival – A shuttle will pick up guests at 3 pm and 7 pm on Sunday. A phone number for the driver will be provided in case the guest becomes lost or needs additional assistance.
Friday Departure – There is one shuttle departure from Rio Retreat on Fridays at 4 pm. All Rio Retreat guests will be taken back to the airport at this time. If you do not have a flight back on Friday night, you may want to find lodging near the airport. There are no exceptions and no stays over beyond Friday.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer any additional shuttle times for workshops. If you cannot make one of the above shuttle times, you will be responsible for your own transportation.
Length of stay is from Sunday evening through Friday morning.
Check-in on Sunday is from 4 pm – 9 pm
Checkout is on Friday in the morning before the workshop sessions.
On the day of checkout, participants will be asked to bring a lock for their suitcase which can be left in the room while they finish the workshop. The lock is required as rooms will be serviced during the day on Friday.
We rely on an accurate attendance count to make important arrangements for your workshop. If a cancellation occurs more than 14 days prior to the start of the workshop, a full refund, less a $600 administrative fee will be issued, or an allowance is made for a one-time transfer to another workshop date. There is a $100 transfer fee for this service. Cancellations 14 days or less before the beginning date of the workshop are non-refundable. If you have to cancel or transfer your workshop, please contact our Intake Department as soon as possible — we often have a waiting list of people who want to attend.
For those who have reserved lodging at Rio Retreat Center and choose to cancel only their lodging, the following cancellation policy applies: For cancellations more than 14 days prior to the first night of your stay, there will be a $150 cancellation fee. Cancellations 14 days or less are non-refundable. If you have to cancel your reservation, please contact our Intake Department as soon as possible.
There will be no room changes once checked in. You will stay with the person you are originally paired with for the duration of your stay. With this in mind, individuals are encouraged to bring items to assist with their own comfort such as earplugs, music, sleep masks, etc. Individuals will not be transferred to another room for reasons such as a snoring roommate.
Rooms will be equipped with an alarm clock but no TV or other electronics. However, individuals are allowed to bring their own devices to the room for their personal use – Wi-Fi is provided in sleeping rooms. Electronic devices, including phones, computers, e-readers and tablets can be brought into and used in-room. Individuals must obtain their roommate’s OK to use devices in-room. Courtesy should be given, as the room is a shared space. (For example: use headphones to listen to music.)
At no time are these devices to be utilized outside of their room or out on the Rio Retreat campus.
