Healing for Marriages, Families, and Friendships
Strong relationships are important to a happy and fulfilling life. For those who struggle with the effects of emotional trauma, addiction, mood disorders, or behavioral disorders, connecting with others and building healthy relationships can be difficult. We offer workshops that can help you strengthen your marriage, your family relationships, and your friendships by uncovering and healing hidden emotional pain and learning new skills for communicating with and relating to others.
This workshop serves to help couples explore their relational difficulties in a safe environment, while learning how to work together to heal their relationship. In a small group of couples, participants practice how to address painful issues utilizing boundaries and improved communication, while building on existing strengths within the relationship.
The Family workshop is designed to assist family members in establishing a supportive and healthy recovery environment by encouraging them to be authentic, communicate productively, utilize boundaries, and function in a healthy fashion. During this workshop, family members learn how codependent behaviors, trauma, mood disorders, and addictions can impact a family system.
Love addicts assign too much value, time, and attention to another person while neglecting to care for or value themselves. Love addicts can be addicted to anyone: lover, spouse, friend, parent, or child. It is a painful, obsessive, and addictive process that negatively impacts not only the love addict but also the individuals in their life and relationships. In this workshop, the focus is on enhancing self-love and self-care while instilling a tolerance for feeling.
This workshop was developed in collaboration with Claudia Black, Ph.D., Senior Fellow, and author of Deceived: Facing Sexual Betrayal, Lies, and Secrets and Intimate Treason. Working from a clinical model based on addiction and trauma, partners impacted by the destruction of sexual compulsion have the opportunity to begin healing from intimate betrayal.
The more you know about yourself, the better equipped you are to engage in healthy relationships and move through life with a positive, healthy sense of self.
